Job Description

The Embossing technician is responsible for setting up and operating the embosser, according to standard operating procedures. In this role, you will work 3rd Shift.

This posting is for the Mt. Prospect facility and is subject to shift alignment. All interested individuals are encouraged to apply, with those currently in the Mt. Prospect Embossing department receiving first consideration.

Activities and duties may vary dependent upon site-specific needs and daily work assignments. Essential functions may include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform the Six Sigma starting procedures.
  • Read photo metric samples.
  • Wash and lubricate belts.
  • Create shop packets.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, efficient and productive workplace.
  • Maintain utilization and minimize downtime, within departmental guidelines.
  • Make decisions regarding quality issues.
  • Utilize continuous monitoring devices and other measuring equipment regularly.
  • Maintain accurate paperwork for production lot, including Q.C. data and inventory information.
  • Perform additional duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have general knowledge and ablility to work with computers and programs (Excel, Word, Email, MFGPRO).
  • Able to work with others in a team environment.
  • Basic reading, writing and mathematical skills are required.
  • Must regard safety as a core value; must serve as role model for other employees and encourage adherence to safety practices, policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to actively contribute in a team-based environment. Encourage open communication and positive interaction with peers and management to effectively reach a common goal.
  • Must have a strong service and quality focus, be able to address issues effectively when problems arise and take initiative to understand root cause. Communicate / educate team in a timely manner.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in essential tasks of the job and a willingness to learn and share knowledge; must take initiative to cross-train and sustain acquired skills.
  • Must have demonstrated record of flexibility and dependability in order to support production and customer focus.
  • Must have a strong detail orientation and be able to follow written and oral instruction.
  • Must be able and willing to work overtime, including short-notice requests.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds.

Preferred Requirements:

  • 1-2 years experience in the manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Material handling experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in web converting or flexible films industry preferred.
