Job Description

Avery Dennison is seeking a Business Development Manager to join its face-paced Intelligent Labels team. The BDM will be responsible for identifying new opportunities and closely working with key strategic partners in various market segments. This role is responsible for not only developing strategic business plans but also executing tactical projects/programs. It requires strong technical and business skills in the RFID industry.

Key Objectives

  • To drive profitable growth and business development activities throughout the RFID market.

  • Responsible for building strong, multi-level relationships with end-users and key value-chain partners.

  • Develop a thorough understanding of RFID technology to assist in value selling & solution recommendations.

  • Provide product support, recommendations, technical support, training, and service information on demand.

  • Develop a thorough understanding of market conditions and develop strategies to grow the company’s revenue.

  • Communicate with customers, including senior management, regularly regarding market, economic, and industry events and trends that have meaning for their businesses and how to help them meet future challenges.

  • Lead and/or guide support team in presenting customer proposals. Involve technical or product experts where appropriate.

  • Seek out market intelligence. Utilize and share external and internal data regarding competitors’ products, pricing, extent, and nature of their business with customers.

  • Surface new ideas, products applications and solution to development teams.

  • Attend trade shows, events and promotions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • Five (5) or more years of successful commercial experience, preferably in RFID.

  • Solid understanding of business and finance acumen.

  • Ability to develop customer relationships, and accelerate sales growth.

  • Ability to effectively develop go-to-market strategy, as well as execute activities.

  • High level of prospecting skills, including proactively identifying and anticipating customer requirements, expectations, and needs.

  • Highly effective at acquiring, maintaining, and applying thorough product/solutions knowledge.

  • Skilled in formulating account strategies and tactics, time management, project planning, and organizing.

  • Skilled in communicating effectively with all levels of management on business issues.

  • Ability to work independently (remote office).

  • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and written communications skills.

  • Ability to travel 50% or more.
