Job Description

What we can offer you! - Your Role:

As a  Product Line Manager you are responsible for understand the market for Avery Dennison’s solutions and developing a product line strategy that identifies and exploits key profit pools to enable top and bottom line growth for a specific solution.  In this case the role will focus on our External Embellishments product portfolio, specifically woven and speciality products, such as Silicon, PU, Leather, and TPU Patches which adhere to the outside of a garment.

You will work closely with different divisions across our internal organization to build and execute on the External Embellishments product line strategy. Your main internal stakeholders will be the Commercial, Business Development, and Product Development & Innovation teams, with whom you will identify and evaluate market needs and develop specific value propositions that convert into new or incremental sales for the woven and specialty product line. As the Market Expert for Woven and Speciality solutions, you utilize this expertise to help strategically drive market growth and sales wins. You are responsible for articulating global consumer insights, trends, and innovations into a go to market solutions approach– as well as being responsible for enabling the commercial organization with knowledge on new solutions, including new product commercial training.

Responsibilities extend to relevant product planning and execution throughout the product life cycle, including: gathering and prioritising product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with projects, Innovation, operations, sales, and support teams to ensure revenue targets, business objectives and customer satisfaction goals are met.

 

Activities may include, but are not limited to:

●        Conduct regular market and competitive analysis within the Woven and Speciality products (including Silicon, PU, Leather, and TPU Patches, which adhere to the outside of a garment)  sector and domain for knowledge of market trends, market/ customers needs, segmentation and competitors

●        Build and support the execution of a robust value proposition and positioning with Marketing and Business intelligence

●        Support the External Embellishments Director with the implementation of the Product Line strategy for Woven and Speciality Products

●        Define and drive products plans and product roadmaps, including preparing and presenting business plans, differentiation, value proposition, and  strategy to Key Stakeholders

●        Monitor the product profitability and create/present Product Life Cycle Decision reviews to be able to take pro-active actions upon these reviews (i.e. initiate and implement action plan for upgrade of product/cost saving)

●        Provide support to the External Embellishment Market Development Team

●        Support all aspects of the new product launch process and commercialization

Working Location: Guangzhou/Ningbo/Suzhou

Qualifications

What we expect from you! - Your Expertise:

●        Structured understanding of the operational Woven and Speciality products platform and associated evolving technologies

●        Proven track record in defining, launching, evolving and sustaining products

●        Technically conversant with working knowledge of the application of the technology and product within Woven and Speciality Product  solutions

●        Customer and market focussed with experience in eliciting customer requirements and matching them to current or evolving technological solutions

●        Understand the levers needed to maximise the performance of a customer proposition at each stage of its lifecycle

●        Strong influencing skills, public speaking skills and ability to champion products both cross functionally and vertically within the organization as well as the ability to establish global partnerships internally and externally

●        Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in an Engineering, or Fabric Manufacturing Discipline is prefered

●        Ability to identify the decision makers within the client base

●        Having an eye for detail and working meticulously

●        Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills in English

●        Work experience in product line management in an international business, ideally in targeted markets is advantageous

●        Willingness to travel globally for about 20% of the time
