To continue our success we're looking for two enthusiastic new team members to join our Graphics team at our European Headquarters in Oegstgeest, The Netherlands. As Jr. Development Engineer you will be responsible for maintaining, improving and developing new film products for the Graphic Solutions portfolio within the Label & Graphic Materials, Europe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead your own R&D projects related to film, adhesives and product development for targeted customer applications by applying a hands-on approach (in labs and pilot scale) and scientific principles of adhesion, polymer science and formulating method.

  • Implementation of products in development into production site by collaborating with process and quality engineering teams in plants.

  • Provide support and work globally with other expert engineers and scientists in projects to develop your own expertise.

  • Work with multi-functional project teams, plan experimental designs, coordinate pilot and plant trials.

  • Generate, document and report technical data with clear conclusions and recommendations to the project team or other internal clients.

  • Define and scope projects together with the project owners in early stage to understand and capture the voice and needs of the market/customer/organization.

  • Support other departments such as QA, marketing, sales and operations with specific knowledge and/or expertise on products.


Position requirements

  • Education on academic level (Master degree or Bachelor degree, preferably in the field of polymer, material or chemical science / engineering.

  • 1 to 3 years of working experience, preferably related to the development of polymers, film constructions, adhesives or coatings.

  • Affinity with artificial weathering and durability test methods in material development is an advantage.

  • Well developed project management skills.

  • Ability to work in cross-functional and global teams, plan and lead own project activities and project team.

  • A strong focus and interest in the customer focus; ability to understand customer needs and translate to product performances.

  • Utilization of statistical tool is preferred.
