Job Description

Purpose of the role


As the HR Business Partner to the Head of Bangladesh business this role will be responsible for the
overall HR and Admin function. The role will be part of the country leadership team of Bangladesh
and will report to the Head of HR for South Asia (Solid Line) and Head of Bangladesh business (dotted
line).This role will be responsible to lead a team of 10 HR professionals that will deal with all aspect of
Country HR that includes HR Planning and Budgeting, Employee / Industrial Relations, Talent
Acquisition, Performance Management, Learning & Development, Talent Management, Payroll,
Administration and Employee Services.


Responsibilities will include the following:


1. HR Planning & Budgeting - Develop the overall HR strategy and annual plan for the
Bangladesh business based Bangladesh market requirements and corporate guidelines.
Design and review the organization structure along with the business teams, prepare and
monitor the HR Budget, review staffing / structures periodically and ensure that the Budgets
and Plans are suitably modified to cater to the changing business needs.
2. Talent Acquisition - Work with the relevant stakeholders in the Business and Talent
Acquisition COE and ensure that the right talent is hired in a timely manner.
3. Change Management - Will lead all change management initiatives relevant to Bangladesh.
Will have the support of the L&OD resources in the region and corporate to execute the
change management initiatives.
4. Performance Management - Will be the custodian of the Performance Management process
for the Bangladesh business. In partnership with the Bangladesh Business Head and the
Bangladesh Country Leadership team ensure that the business priorities and objectives are
cascaded to the individuals in a timely and accurate manner. And subsequently ensure that the new GPS process is followed across the organisation by suitably enabling the employee
population for the same.
5. Learning and Development - Ensure gold standard execution of the Learning and
Development initiatives in Bangladesh. Work collaboratively with the L&OD resources at the
region and corporate to deliver best in class training content relevant to the local needs of
Bangladesh.
6. Key Talent Retention - Work in partnership with the Country Leadership Team to identify key
talent based on the LDR framework and ensure gold standard execution of the development
plans for each key tralent.
7. Industrial Relations - IR strategy formulation, execution and periodic review for Bangladesh.
Active oversight of Industrial Relations matters at the factories in Bangladesh working closely
with the Plant Leadership team.
8. External Stakeholder Management - Actively liaise with and maintain cordial relationship
with Labour Department, Ministry of Labour, BEPZA, Chambers of Commerce, Employer
Associations and Heads of HR of other companies.

 

Qualifications

An ideal candidate for this role should have :

  1. a professional qualification in Management or Human Resources Management with 12-15 years experience (preferably in Manufacturing Industry).
  2. directly managed a team of 5 or more people for at least 5 years
  3. have managed HR for a workforce of at least 800 employees
  4. excellent communication skills in Bengali and English.
  5. working knowledge of labour laws and BEPZA laws of Bangladesh
  6. been an excellent team player. Should have demonstrated collaborative behaviour in one or more roles in his / her career.
  7. a proven track record of trusted and transparent way of working Exposure to multinational corporation environment and matrixed way of working would be an asset.
