Job Description

You will enhance total value procured from the Indirect supply base by leading standardization and consolidation solutions across Avery Dennison businesses in ASEAN. You will be responsible for planning and execution of the regional indirect procurement strategy. and work closely with regional stakeholders to align on business objectives, leveraging global processes to deliver value and cost savings. 

You will investigate new developments relative to Indirect materials & services, and makes recommendations designed to reduce usage, costs and improve quality. As a  Regional Leader, you will be responsible for negotiating commercial terms and implementing procurement agreements with suppliers.  You will report to the Purchasing Director for SAPSSA, based in Singapore.


YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Develop regional indirect strategy and execute the plan
  • Identify and deliver cost savings targets across various local / ASEAN & divisional indirect categories. Initiatives could cut across all indirect categories including IT, Finance, Travel Services, Sales, Marketing, Human Resources, Logistics & Freight, Facilities Management, Utilities, MRO, Legal Services or other areas where opportunities exist
  • Develop successful sourcing strategies and manage the TCO of goods & services 
  • Work with key internal customers to implement best practices and ensure operational efficiencies are met
  • Lead ASEAN supplier negotiations and contract execution
  • Coordinate and consolidate multi-site / local unit Indirect Procurement process
  • Support procure-to-pay process improvements within region
  • With assistance of cross-divisional team, develop method of objectively measuring and scoring the performance of each supplier
  • Gather information about competitors’ materials, technologies, supply base, sourcing strategies, etc. to benchmark competitors’ costs, service, etc.
  • Work to develop/publish/implement strategies that enable high quality, delivery, and productivity cost savings.
  • Improve cooperation across geographic and organization boundaries by identifying barriers and working with Regional Purchasing Leaders and Global Director to eliminate barriers.
  • Build a plan to assure 100% of the spend covered under P.O. issues and Procurement responsibility.
  • Train and provide development opportunities for staff. Ensure annual goals are complete and communicated. Ensure Global Performance Management System is up to date and regular feedback is provided to staff members.
  • Act as a team role model and change-agent. Positively lead and influence team members to partner together to achieve individual and business goals.

Qualifications

WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR IN YOU :

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5+ years purchasing or related experience with Supervision and Leadership experience preferred.
  •  Excellent customer service skills.
  • Proven vendor selection and negotiation skills with strong business acumen.
  • Knowledge of negotiating and developing contracts.
  • Possess leadership, mentoring, training and project management experience and skills.
  • Understanding of related computer systems, such as Lotus Notes, Microsoft Office, and function specific software.
  • Demonstrated success in leading change toward a centralized process in a decentralized procurement organization
  • Strong analytical skills/strategic thinker
