Job Description

Avery Dennison is seeking a Senior Marketing Manager to join the Materials Group Specialty Marketing organization. The Senior Marketing Manager has P&L responsibility for the Durables label business in North America.  This individual will be the regional segment marketing leader for Durables, and the role will include partnering with the Durables marketing team in Mexico. The Senior Marketing Manager will lead a team of Business Development Managers, and prioritize the work of key technical resources who support the Durables business.  The successful senior manager sets strategy and executes against it to deliver targeted financial results. This individual will work closely with the Global Durables Segment Leader and the other regional segment leaders.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • P&L responsibility for the Durables label business in North America.

  • Create and maintain the segment strategy (A3) to achieve Annual Operating Plan (AOP) goals.

  • Provide key business direction to product managers, business development managers, and technical resources to drive growth in sales, market share and profitability.

  • Partner closely with Technical Solutions Director to provide technical support to target growth accounts

  • Lead and coordinate key product innovation efforts within the segment, linking closely with R&D on development and Sales on commercialization strategy.

  • Lead and coordinate Annual Operating and Strategic Planning process for the segment through collaborative relationships with Finance, Procurement, Sales and Operations.

  • Identify and lead key strategic initiatives for the Durables segment.

  • Support sales team by actively participating in customer visits and leading and sponsoring growth initiatives.

  • Lead and develop professional staff, driving performance, training and development activities to support the career development of the team.

  • Lead continuous improvement meetings (MWI) for Durables; own this process.

  • Identify regional M&A opportunities for the Durables segment.



Qualifications

 

  • 10+ years product management, business development and/or business management experience in Fortune 500 Companies.

  • Experience in Industrial equipment segments a plus.

  • Minimum 5+ years people leadership experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or Marketing required.

  • MBA strongly preferred.

  • Past responsibilities in target setting and execution

  • Pas experience managing product line P&L a plus.

  • Cross functional leadership experience both inside and outside of marketing is preferred.

  • Hands-on strategic thinker with keen problem solving capabilities and proven track record of driving execution both personally and through teams.

  • Proven ability to identify, select, develop and retain top talent in an organization

  • Travel 30% (US, Mexico and for global team meetings)
