What we are looking for

Avery Dennison’s North America Leadership Development Program (LDP) runs with a single business focus to build talent for our rapidly growing organization. With a concentrated blend of experiential on-the-job learning, classroom and virtual training, the LDP serves as the talent pipeline for leadership roles throughout the region.

We are searching for meticulous individuals who are looking to they craft a successful and influential career in finance to be our next Finance Associates (FLDP). FLDP Associates receive in-depth exposure to both geographical and functional parts of the organization by rotating through three different positions over the course of 36 months. These positions are the equivalent of three full-time positions that will give you real world exposure. We are looking for individuals who would be open to relocating during the duration and upon graduation of the program.

The FLDP Associate will typically rotate through the following functions which may include:

  • Commercial Finance

  • Corporate Accounting

  • Financial Planning and Analysis

  • Operations Finance

  • Procurement

What you will be doing

The primary role and responsibility of this LDP position will be dependent on business needs, and might be also tailored to individual LDP strengths and interests. However, any work that you will be doing will provide you with the following opportunities:

  • Gain real world exposure: By completing essentially three full-time jobs upon graduation of the program, FLDP Associates have laid a strong foundation for credibility and success in their finance careers.

  • Work cross-functionally: Work closely with finance teams and provide financial support to outside teams across the North American Label and Graphic Materials Group

  • Develop key skills: Grow skills and competencies in areas such as cost accounting, business partnership, accounting requirements, journal entries, closing processes, forecasting and financial planning/analysis.

  • Tackle target assignments: Support projects and assignments that have a direct impact on the business such as Monthly Forecasting, Month End and Quarter End reporting requirements, and Annual Operating Plan and Strategic Plan processes.

In addition, a core component of the curriculum is the mentoring program. Paired with another leader within the organization, the program focuses on the transition from college to corporate, leveraging strengths and defining your career path.

Qualifications

What you will need to bring to the program

Avery Dennison has a long history of being a market leader. Your history is important to us. It should include the following:

Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field required
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher

Skills:
  • Leadership experience via student organizations, athletics, intramural sports, volunteerism or similar activities

  • Previous internship or co-op experience preferred

  • Flexibility and willingness to relocate as needed throughout and after the 36-month duration

Travel:

Be willing and able to travel around 10% of the time.
