Job Description
The Mechatronic Designer challenge in a few words:
Within this role you will coordinate the Mechanical and/or Electrical aspects of development specialized tools projects by:
- Following-up with internal Technical Leaders, Managers and other disciplines Designers
- Manage Suppliers on requirements and validation
Your contribution in this role:
- Prepare the detailed specification of the design of electro-mechanical fixtures, describe and justify the technical choices through simulations, calculations and test models;
- Produce schematics 3D models, fabrication and assembly drawings as well as corresponding BOMs;
- Take into account constraints such as EMC, grounding, mechanics (strength of materials), thermal dissipation, manufacturability, maintainability and testability;
- Build and test prototypes when needed;
- Support qualification tests and certification;
- Support the integration of hardware and software;
- Apply development processes.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate in a few words:
- Degree: A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent;
- Experience:
- More than 5 years of design for analog and/or digital electronic engineering and mechanics/automation applications;
- Experience in coordination or technical project management;
- Proficiency:
- Understanding in digital and analog electronics and mechanical design,
- Knowledge of electronic components, thermal and electromagnetic compatibility; Intermediate knowledge in Solidworks Electrical, and Solidworks 3D;
- Experience with Solidworks simulation, an asset;
- Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, ability to estimate, plan and organize workload, professional and results oriented. Strong capacity of adaptation and priorities management;
- Multilingual: Fluent in French and English, written & spoken.
