The Project Manager leads multiple multi-site teams to deliver test stations (hardware / software) built in accordance with the customer's specifications for customers in various industries. At the center of the project, the project manager is responsible to ensure that the team delivers quality products on time and on budget with sometimes limited information and tight deadlines.

Your contribution in this role

  • The project manager shall be responsible to initiate and plan projects to include:
  • Initiate projects from a sold budget, margin, and scope. Project planning should consider revenue and cash-flow targets;
  • Understand and help resources define effort for technical scope. Track weekly with execution team;
  • Project activities planning and tracking (Waterfall and Agile);
  • Understand and be able to communicate project scope internally and externally: technical, schedule, budget, quality, etc.
  • Schedule planning to include Critical Path (CP) identification;
  • Risk identification, mitigation planning and implementation;
  • Project initiation via formal kick-off to project team and customers including active participation in the creation of the kick-off packages;
  • Multi-site team alignment.

 

Once the project is launched, the project manager shall be responsible of the execution and control of the project within the set baseline to ensure a successful delivery to include:

  • Preparing periodic budget analysis and EAC reporting which may require Earned Value Analysis (EVA) on large projects;
  • Continuous reporting to internal (Averna management team) and external stakeholders (clients, partners);
  • Identification and control of scope evolution via change management best practices, often within strategic account settings having multiple internal stakeholders;
  • Schedule management relative to the baseline and periodic update using standard project tools (MS Project); optimizing the schedule to meet the needs of the clients;
  • Formal periodic progress review and presentation to Averna’s Executive;
  • Direct customer interfacing and goal management while protecting Averna’s interests.
  • Multi-disciplinary & multi-site team management.

 

During the project closure, the project manager shall be responsible for:

  • Project deliverables are in accordance with baselines requirements and quality standards;
  • Invoicing, warranty initializations, documentation and communications upload to shared directory. Closure within ERP system. Trigger customer satisfaction surveys;
  • Thorough closure of any outstanding projects activities.

Qualifications

The perfect candidate in a few words

  • Degree: Degree in engineering, project management and/or equivalent experience.
  • Experienced:
  • You have 5 to 7 years of experience and have worked in a customer and technical oriented engineering services environment for a minimum of 3 years;
  • You have experience managing engineering projects (software and hardware);
  • You have managed multi-disciplinary multi-site teams in a project environment and within a matrix organization;
  • You have strong forecasting budgeting and revenue generation skills;
  • Skilled: You have an excellent proficiency with project management tools and with MS Project;
  • You understand and can apply Agile methodology when required. You can think on your feet, think outside the box, strive under pressure. Scrum master certification is an asset;
  • Polyglot: You are fluent (written & oral) in English; speaking Spanish is an asset;
  • Flexible: You are able to travel occasionally (10-15%) but can be more if you so wish;
  • Charismatic: You are a natural leader, are dynamic, and perseverant, responsible and capable of taking ownership. You are a strong & skilled communicator.
