Job Description

  • Responsible for overseeing AvantCredit’s US Verifications Department strategy and personnel
  • Ensure all department goals are met including quantitative and qualitative targets, project timelines, and staffing needs
  • Develop and implement projects designed to improve operations and enhance customer experience, specifically:
    • Technology initiatives
    • Experience testing
    • Operational analytics
    • Management reporting
    • Process change
    • Staffing
    • Vendor review and onboarding
  • Manage the team such that the goals of employees and the business are aligned, promoting a win-win environment in which the business meets targets and employees are empowered to progress along their chosen career path
  • Collaborate with other Operations Managers to ensure consistency on company-wide operations
  • Collaborate with other functional groups to ensure company-wide goals are met, including Software Development, Product Management, Marketing, Legal & Compliance, Finance, Accounting, and Human Resources
  • Continuously scale operations for increased effectiveness and efficiency
  • Interface with senior management and executive team to communicate business results
  • Design and implement short term and long term strategy to drive KPI’s and improve profitability

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • BA/BS in business, economics, mathematics, or engineering
  • Six Sigma qualifications a plus
  • 7+ years of work experience with 3+ years of direct people management experience
  • Experience constructing, scaling, and optimizing operations processes, particularly in a fast-paced startup or tech environment
  • Experience leading operations teams of 20+ employees
  • Experience in financial or insurance underwriting, or experience in a data-focused sales management position, is preferred
  • Data-oriented with a focus on core KPIs and reporting; proven capability of executing various data-driven projects with analyses and the reporting to back you up
  • Familiarity with relational databases, CRM systems, and working with internal tools teams
  • Innate understanding of the complexity of running excellent underwriting collections operations
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills
