Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in Oracle technologies and solid knowledge of other database platforms. The role focuses on the administration, evolution, and migration of enterprise database environments, supporting critical applications and transformation initiatives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer Oracle Database environments as the primary technology, including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
  • Manage and support additional database platforms such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB, or other NoSQL solutions.
  • Execute and coordinate database migration projects, including cross-version upgrades, platform migrations, cloud migrations, and database consolidation initiatives.
  • Plan and perform migrations from on-premise to cloud-based database services, including Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, AWS, or Azure.
  • Support heterogeneous migration scenarios between different database technologies, ensuring data consistency, performance, and minimal service disruption.
  • Implement and maintain high-availability and disaster recovery solutions, including Oracle Data Guard, RAC, and equivalent technologies for other platforms.
  • Define and execute backup, restore, and recovery procedures across multiple database systems.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance, capacity, storage, and resource utilization.
  • Troubleshoot incidents, performance bottlenecks, replication issues, and database-related application problems.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and project teams to design database solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.
  • Produce technical documentation, operational procedures, migration plans, and handover material.
  • Contribute to automation and standardization initiatives for database provisioning, patching, and deployment.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience as a Database Administrator with a strong focus on Oracle Database
  • Hands-on experience managing Oracle databases in enterprise environments
  • Experience with database migrations, upgrades, platform transformations, and cloud migration projects
  • Strong knowledge of performance tuning, SQL optimization, backup & recovery, business continuity, and disaster recovery
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), cloud-native database services, and migration tools
  • Knowledge of at least one additional database technology (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, or MongoDB)
  • Good understanding of Linux/Unix environments, scripting, and automation tools such as Ansible or Terraform
  • Knowledge of database security, access control, and auditing principles
  • Oracle certification (OCP or equivalent)
  • Experience working in regulated industries such as financial services, insurance, or other enterprise environments
  • Exposure to containerized environments and Kubernetes platforms
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills in English
