Job Description
Your team:
As a member of the DevOps and QA team, you will be part of a group of highly skilled, motivated and dynamic people that are responsible for a central part of the Avaloq Banking Suite. You will be part of the team responsible for automation and innovation of Shift-Left QA for the Avaloq solution used by banks in the global market.
As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), you will work in close cooperation with Developers, Test Managers, Release Managers, and other key stakeholders with the objective to deliver high-quality Shift-Left automation solutions that meet customer needs and requirements. You will get the opportunity to work with technology stacks including Java, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Gradle, just to name a few.
Your tasks:
- Develop high-quality Java code and maintain robust frameworks and tools for Shift-Left automation, utilizing Java and microservices with REST API for both new features and enhancements.
- Debug complex software issues and optimize application performance through targeted code improvements and systematic refactoring.
- Collaborate with product owners to understand and prioritize requirements. Ensure cohesive partnership with configuration specialists and fellow software engineers to meet team standards.
- Assuming ownership and accountability for specific components of the frameworks and tools.
- Engaging in collaborative efforts with development teams working on applications and microservices.
- Operating within an agile environment, contributing to the continuous improvement of processes and methodologies.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- University degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electronics Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java development and associated frameworks (e.g. JEE, Spring, OSGi, Angular)
- Experience with REST APIs and message-based systems (e.g. XML, JSON)
- Highly motivated, collaborative team player who likes to analyze and solve complex challenges
- Comfortable with communicating with stakeholders and collaborating with other teams
- Strong written and spoken English language skills
You will get extra points for the following:
- Experience with Avaloq Banking System is a BIG plus
- Experience in automation tools like Cypress, Selenium, Appium, Jest
- Experience with Performance testing tools (Gatlin, LoadRunner, JMeter)
- Knowledge in Oracle database architecture
- Experience in integrating automated tests in CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with cloud architecture concepts (e.g. Operators, Microservices, Containers)
- Experience with cloud platforms like Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS, or Azure
- Knowledge and practical experience in using open-source libraries and tools within development projects
