- Continuously improve and streamline the network platform. Standardise designs. Remove complexity. Improve endurance. Reduce operational toil. Use automation tools like Terraform and GitOps to achieve these goals.
- Handle network operations. Monitor the network. Respond to incidents. Troubleshoot issues. Manage problems. Drive root-cause analysis. Take preventive actions.
- Collaborate with the Architecture and Sales teams to obtain scalable, secure network designs for implementation and improvement roadmaps.
- Keep operational documents high-quality. This includes runbooks, standards, and diagrams. Make sure services are ready by following good change practices, testing methods, and giving clear handovers.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in network engineering. This experience must include working in complex enterprise environments.
- Skills in routing and switching, WAN and Internet connectivity, firewalls, and load balancing.
- A solid insight into hybrid-cloud networking is required. This includes experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
- An Infrastructure-as-Code mindset. Useful experience with Terraform, whether by creating or using modules, and be familiar with Git for change control and collaboration.
- Solid fundamentals: TCP/IP, BGP, DNS, VLANs, subnetting, VPN/IPsec; deep troubleshooting skills across layers (L2–L7).
- Operational excellence while prioritising security: monitoring, managing incidents and problems, and creating clear documentation.
- Experience in enhancing endurance in regulated or high-availability environments, like financial services.
It would be a real bonus if you have
- Certifications such as CCNP, OCI Networking (Associate or Professional), CheckPoint CCSE, FortiGate FCP, and Terraform Associate.
- Experience with SD-WAN
How you work
- You communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and collaborate well in cross-functional teams.
- You are curious and pragmatic: eager to learn, but focused on delivering secure, maintainable solutions.
- You stay structured under tension and can prioritise appropriately during incidents and delivery peaks.
- Languages: fluent English; Italian and/or German are a plus.
- Shift work and/or on-call duty apply depending on service needs.
- Job Location: Bioggio (TI), Switzerland
