Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced DBA Line Manager to lead a team of database administrators, ensuring the delivery of robust, scalable, and secure database solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Oracle database, SQL Server, MySQL database management, cloud technologies, and DevOps methodologies, with a proven track record in managing and mentoring technical teams.

Your key tasks

  • Team Leadership and Management:

    • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of DBAs to achieve organizational objectives
    • Oversee workload distribution, performance evaluations, and professional development
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture
  • Database Administration:

    • Oversee the design, installation, configuration, and maintenance of Oracle databases (on-premise and cloud environments)
    • Ensure database security, availability, and performance optimization
    • Plan and execute database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
  • Cloud Expertise:

    • Implement and manage Oracle database solutions on cloud platforms (e.g., Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
    • Lead cloud migration initiatives, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance
    • Leverage cloud-native tools for database monitoring and automation
  • DevOps Methodologies:

    • Integrate DevOps practices into database management processes
    • Automate database deployment, monitoring, and maintenance tasks using CI/CD pipelines and configuration management tools
    • Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless database operations within agile workflows
  • Strategic Planning and Collaboration:

    • Define and execute database strategies aligned with business goals
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement data solutions
    • Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices in Oracle database management, cloud solutions, and DevOps
  • Compliance and Standards:

    • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, organizational policies, and security standards
    • Implement governance frameworks for database operations and cloud resources

Qualifications

  • Technical Expertise:

    • 7+ years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
    • In-depth knowledge of Oracle database architecture, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
    • Expertise in Oracle database solutions in cloud environments (Oracle Cloud, AWS RDS, Azure SQL, etc.)
    • Proficiency in DevOps tools and practices (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes)
    • Hands-on experience with database monitoring and automation tools
  • Leadership and Management:

    • Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills
    • Proven ability to manage and motivate technical teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Certifications (Preferred):

    • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or higher
    • Cloud certifications (e.g., Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, AWS Certified Database Specialty, Azure Database Administrator Associate)
    • DevOps certifications (e.g., Certified Kubernetes Administrator, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer)
  • Educational Background:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus
  • Soft Skills:

    • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
    • Fluent in English and Italian, German is a plus
    • Excellent verbal and written communication
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver within deadlines
