Job Description

Manage the engineering team responsible for supporting existing solutions and delivering new ones within the overall Autodoc architecture. You will be responsible for both the technical execution of the team as well as the growth of the individual team members. This role combines technical leadership, team management, and strategic ownership of payment infrastructure and services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide architectural guidance and apply engineering best practices using Java/Kotlin, PHP, Kafka, MySQL
  • Plan, prioritize, and ensure the timely delivery of technical projects while managing risks and dependencies
  • Work closely with Product Managers and other stakeholders to align engineering efforts with business goals
  • Adhere to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on time and on budget
  • Service monitoring, alerting, and incident mitigation - New Relic, Grafana
  • Code review with peers to find the bugs, optimize logic, and detect the bottlenecks
  • Coach and support the team in Agile Software development best practices

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a lead position/role
  • 4+ years of work experience as a Java/Kotlin
  • Work experience with PHP would be a significant plus
  • Experience with MySQL, and working with large data volumes
  • Experience in software development, supporting the design and development of large-scale, distributed software applications
  • Experience with microservices and cloud architectures - Google Cloud Platform, Docker
  • Knowledge of architecture/design methods and patterns, data and API specifications, quality assurance, and testing methods
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to apply logical and analytical thinking to complex problems
  • Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits
  • Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team
  • English upper-intermediate (B2)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work autonomously in a team environment

Will be as a plus:

  • Experience building or operating payment systems, fintech platforms, or transaction-heavy systems
  • Prior knowledge of PHP 7+, Laravel, Symfony, and FuelPHP knowledge is a plus
