Job Description
We’re looking for a NOC Engineer with hands-on experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to monitor our cloud infrastructure, troubleshoot application issues, and ensure maximum uptime for critical company services. You will respond to incidents, optimize monitoring systems like Grafana and Cloud Monitoring, and maintain the reliability and performance of our cloud applications.
Responsibilities
- 24/7/365 Monitoring of GCP cloud applications and infrastructure to ensure maximum uptime. The role involves 12-hour shifts, including both day and night rotations, following a 12-on / 48-off schedule.
- Incident Response: investigating and debugging issues, with escalation to Development or SRE teams.
- Independent Issue Resolution using established runbooks and automation tools.
- Monitoring Optimization: eliminating false positives, fine-tuning alerts, and developing dashboards (Grafana, Cloud Monitoring).
- Incident Management: coordinating critical issue resolution and conducting Post Mortems.
- Documentation: Developing and reviewing content for the internal knowledge base and technical manuals.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience system administrator or NOC
- Cloud & Orchestration: Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and container orchestration using Kubernetes (K8s).
- Infrastructure as Code (IaaC): Strong understanding of IaaC principles, with practical experience working with Terraform.
- Systems & Networking: Proficient experience with UNIX-like systems (Linux). Deep understanding of cloud networking architecture, including hands-on experience with Cloud NAT, Cloud DNS, and Load Balancing (LB).
- Monitoring & Observability: Experience with monitoring and visualization tools: Zabbix, Grafana, VictoriaMetrics/Prometheus, and New Relic.
- Incident Management: Proficiency with VictorOps (Splunk On-Call)/Incident.io, Jira, and Confluence for incident tracking, reporting, and documentation.
- Version Control: Experience with Git (version control) in a collaborative environment.
- Basic knowledge of at least one: Bash/Shell, Python, or PHP nice to have.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and managed database services: Cloud SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and Memorystore (Redis) nice to have.
