Job Description

As a Cloud DevOps Platform Engineer at Authentix, you will play a pivotal role in architecting, implementing, and maintaining our cloud-based infrastructure platforms. With a focus on platforms like Kubernetes, Docker, and other cloud-native technologies, you will ensure the seamless deployment and scalability of applications. Collaborating closely with our development teams, you'll design infrastructure that promotes efficiency, reliability, and security. Your expertise will guide Authentix in leveraging the full potential of DevOps practices and cloud technologies, ensuring that our solutions remain at the forefront of innovation. 

Responsibilities

  • Azure Kubernetes Management: Construct, configure, and oversee Azure Kubernetes Clusters to ensure optimal performance and reliability. 
  • GitHub Repositories Oversight: Administer and organize GitHub repositories, ensuring codebase integrity, access controls, and best practices adherence. 
  • GitHub Actions Development: Design, build, and optimize GitHub Actions for continuous integration, continuous deployment, and other automated workflows. 
  • Deployment Facilitation: Coordinate and streamline the deployment of product updates to web applications and microservices, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum uptime. 
  • Docker and Kubernetes Management: Design, build, and manage Docker images, ensuring they are efficiently orchestrated and scaled within Kubernetes containers. 
  • DevOps Architecture Design: Identify solution gaps and draft DevOps architecture proposals that cater to business needs and technological advancements. 
  • Agile Methodology Advocacy: Apply practical experience with agile methodologies. We seek a genuine commitment to impactful delivery over mere checkbox compliance. 

Qualifications

Our ideal Cloud DevOps Platform Engineer will possess the following qualifications:

Required Skills  

  • GitHub Actions Mastery: Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot diverse workflows. 
  • Kubernetes Expertise: Administer Kubernetes Clusters, with knowledge of components like Helm. 
  • Container Management: Oversee Container Registry with secure Docker image storage. 
  • Scripting and Tooling: Expertise in Bash, PowerShell, YAML, and Azure CLI. 
  • Analytical Prowess: Exceptional problem-solving and critical analysis skills. 
  • Code Management: Proficiency with GitHub for version control. 
  • DevOps Best Practices: Familiar with CI/CD, IaC, and Release Automation. 
  • Cloud Platform Knowledge: Familiarity with major cloud platforms, especially Azure. 
  • Collaborative Team Player: Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. 
  • Security Focus: Adherence to security best practices in deployments. 
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated with industry trends and innovations. 

Preferred Skills   

  • Azure Database Mastery: Proficient in Azure PostgreSQL administration, including backup, scaling, and optimization. 
  • Infrastructure Automation: Strong familiarity with Azure Bicep and ARM Templates for efficient infrastructure deployment and management. 
  • Programming Expertise: Hands-on experience with programming languages, particularly Python and Go. 
  • Event-Driven Scaling: Proficiency with Keda for Kubernetes-based event-driven autoscaling. 

Experience  

  • Bachelor’s degree, Computer Science or Engineering preferred  
  • 3+ years of Kubernetes experience  
  • 3+ years of DevOps experience with Production systems 

Additional Information

  • For local candidates, this is may be a hybrid position consisting of mostly remote/virtual working with occasional on-site (Indianapolis north side) activities approximately 1-2x per week (this is flexible).
  • For non-local candidates, this will primarily be a virtual position with rare on-site travel approximately 2-4x per year to Indianapolis, depending on business needs and location.
