Job Description
Aurora Dairies are currently seeking a Farm Hand for a dairy farm located in Broadmeadows, North-West Tasmania. This farm is only 10 minutes away from Smithton and is about one hour drive west of Burnie which has all the essential services available with many recreational activities on offer, along with cafes and restaurants.
This farm is approximately 320ha and 144ha is under centre pivot and K-Line irrigation systems. We are currently milking 1,150 cows, through a 50 bail rotary shed with ACR’s, auto teat spray and auto drafting and we use Easy Dairy for all herd records.
This farm is 100% Spring calving beginning in mid-August. The herd is medium frame quiet natured cows. We run a two-herd system with an easy entry & exits system and the farm is predominantly pasture based with pellets fed in the dairy.
Accommodation is available and there could be opportunities for employment for your partner on one of our nearby farms, if required.

This role will include tasks the areas of:
- Driving and upholding Animal Health and Safe Operating Procedures.
- All aspects of milking.
- Animal husbandry.
- Pasture management.
- Machinery operation.
- Repairs and maintenance.
