Aurora Collegiate Academy is a college preparatory K– 5th grade charter school for underserved children from across Memphis. Aurora Collegiate opened in August 2012. Our mission is to prepare each of our students to enter and excel in a rigorous secondary school and eventually in a 4-year college or university.

Job Description

Work with individual scholars or small groups of scholars to provide educational
interventions and progress monitoring
• Maintain records of interventions and progress monitoring to ensure process fidelity
• Attend team/parent meetings as required; provide input to teams regarding scholar
academic strengths and weaknesses
• Utilize best practice instructional strategies and research-based intervention curriculum
materials to meet the learning needs of scholars in Tier 2 and Tier 3
• Provide the high-quality instruction needed to move scholars to grade level proficiency
• Participate in universal screening activities and assist with the analysis of the data to identify
scholars in need of response to intervention services
• Collaborate with the RtI Coordinator and grade level teachers to maintain accurate scholar records, parent
communications records and scholar progress data reports as required state law
• Meet weekly with RtI Coordinator and grade level team to preview lessons for the next week for intervention groups
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as requested by the principal

Qualifications

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of scholar information
  • Skill in effective oral and written communication
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work
  • Follow school guidelines with scholar discipline
  • Maintain proper professional conduct as defined in staff handbook
  • Hold a college degree or be working towards one
