Job Description

Your Tasks:

The Customer Project Manager drives, leads and manages automotive projects within the specified time, budget and quality framework to the satisfaction of the customers, ensuring economic success for the company and successful delivery of autonomous driving products (radar, camera, domain controllers, etc.) throughout their lifecycle.

1. Project Definition & Planning

• Define project indicators (meet timeline milestones & financial targets)

• Establish an appropriate project organization (meeting structure, information/knowledge exchange, documentation, archiving)

• Develop an initial project plan aligned with the business unit's current process

• Select and identify the product and process special characteristics based on customer requirements, including product legal regulations, applicable functions and assembly requirements

• Meet project delivery quality objectives based on customer requirements, including PPAP, process capability, etc.

2. Project Execution & Control

• Track project progress and define corrective actions in case of deviations from the project plan

• Control project budget and resource utilization for all approved projects

• Report project status in line with current tools and processes

• Implement and execute professional change management

• Conduct risk assessment, control and drive the implementation of risk mitigation measures

• Escalate projects as required

• Ensure the product and process design meet customer requirements

3. Customer & Supplier Interface

• Act as the primary interface for OEM customers (domestic automotive OEMs)

• Present project status and benefits in customer meetings, supplier meetings and internal reviews

• Negotiate document exchange and requirements with customers and suppliers; protect the confidentiality of project data

• Communicate project status effectively with customers; understand customer background, customer DNA and key customer contacts

4. Change & Risk Management

• Negotiate requested changes with customers; evaluate the impact on requirements in terms of time, cost and technology

• Estimate and assess project risks; develop risk mitigation strategies and define & implement relevant measures

5. Team & Stakeholder Management

• Lead and coordinate 10–20+ cross-functional project team members (coordination with engineering, quality, purchasing, manufacturing and other functions)

• Proactively drive the project to meet stakeholder expectations; provide regular updates in an appropriate manner

• Assign tasks to project team members; define responsibilities clearly; foster cooperation and team spirit

• Manage team members from different countries; cross-cultural collaboration capability required

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering, Automotive, Mechanical, Electronic or related fields

• 3+ years of experience in the automotive or comparable industry with multi-functional project management or related role experience

• Subproject leader (e.g. Technical Project Leader or Discipline Project Leader) with at least 1 full-lifecycle project management delivery

• PMP certification is preferred

Technical & Industry Knowledge

• Engineering knowledge in automotive electronics, especially ADAS/AD products (radar, camera, domain controllers)

• Profound knowledge of production technologies, processes and the current product portfolio

• Understand the product life cycle from development through SOP to end-of-life

• Understand existing processes, rules and decision-making structures within the organization

Customer Project Management Competency

• Risk Management: identify, assess and control project risks; develop mitigation strategies and drive implementation; quickly detect deviations, determine root causes and resolve or escalate effectively

• Cost & Scope Management: lead projects within specified time, budget and quality framework, ensuring economic success and successful product delivery throughout the entire lifecycle

• Customer & Stakeholder Management: communicate effectively with core team, customers and management; establish project documentation and organization; present project status to decision-makers

• Quality Management: analyze and monitor project objectives and delivery status in terms of technology, commerce, quality and schedule; ensure sustained delivery quality

Language & Soft Skills

• Fluent English in both spoken and written communication; able to conduct meetings and negotiations in English

• Cross-functional team leadership and cross-regional collaboration and management capability

• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills

• Leadership ability; capable of building team cooperation and driving results

• Strong sense of responsibility and ownership; self-driven, resilient under pressure, with a continuous improvement mindset
