Job Description

Key Objectives of the Position:

  • Leading the   Procurement & Supplier Quality Mgmt Organization in China 
  • Defining the supply strategy and negotiating with suppliers to achieve best market conditions 
  • Develop/expand China Strategic Supplier List
  • Make the China PUR/SQM processes and setup of increasing importance for global PUR/SQM

 

Main Tasks:

Leadership

  • Functionally and/or disciplinary all  Procurement and Supplier Quality leadership in China.
  • Coaches and develops the teams and employees.

Material Sourcing

  • Initiate and control keeping PCIS targets for each project through effective sourcing decisions, by exploring competition and usage of advanced negotiation techniques

Operational/Escalation Management

  • Support escalation of major supplier quality problems, supply interruptions and supplier commercial issues.    

Supplier Diversity

  • Support the achievement of customer Supplier Diversity objectives by finding and sourcing qualified diversity suppliers (priority: best quality and most cost competitive solution).       

In the market for the market

  • Develop and drive Best Cost Locations objectives across production sites by identifying and leveraging local sources and global suppliers to optimize material costs, logistics, quality, responsiveness, and currency management through total landed cost analysis.

Technological Balance / Supplier Panel Management

  • Initiate early supplier involvement and actively manage supplier reduction to achieve competitive technical solutions and price negotiations, while monitoring procurement and quality targets and supporting company requirements in supplier markets.

Procurement Strategy/ Pooling of Demand

  • Ensure the Procurement  and Supplier Quality strategy and targets reflect the requirements of   in China/Region and the respective BAs
  • Initiate and control pooling of demand on material and supplier level to achieve maximum synergies out of material for  

Supplier Quality Management

  • In line with Global Quality understanding "Quality First", strive and drive Zero Defect requirement to the supplier base - Implement Zero Defect Culture within the SQM organization on regional level

     

Qualifications

Knowledge

  • Expert Knowledge in Procurement Management (including policies, systems and processes)
  • Advanced Knowledge in  Procurement Processes and Product Life Cycle (PLC)
  • Advanced knowledge in risk management
  • Advanced knowledge in Management skills, tools and techniques (Balanced Scorecard, Benchmarking, etc.)
  • Advanced knowledge in Human relations skills (team skills, conflict management, open-mindedness, networking)
  • Advanced knowledge in  Communication skills, including Presentation and Negotiation techniques
  • Advanced knowledge in Problem solving and decision-making tools and techniques
  • Advanced knowledge in Project management skills, tools and techniques
