Job Description
The Technical Project Lead (TPL) for Electronic Brake Systems (EBS) serves as the primary technical interface between the OEM customer and the internal engineering organization. This role owns the technical relationship, alignment, and delivery performance for brake control programs, ensuring customer requirements are clearly translated into executable engineering plans and delivered with high quality, transparency, and accountability.
The TPL combines strong brake system technical expertise with leadership, communication, and issue management skills to proactively manage risk, drive alignment, and build long-term customer confidence.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Technical Interface & Leadership
- Serve as the point of contact for all technical topics related to the Electronic Brake System.
- Lead regular technical reviews with OEMs, including architecture, software, safety, and validation updates.
- Clearly communicate program status, risks, mitigation plans, and technical trade-offs.
- Build trusted relationships with customer engineering, validation, safety, and program teams.
- Evaluate technical impact of customer requirement changes and negotiate scope, timing, and resource implications.
Technical Execution & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Lead internal cross-functional teams (systems, software, hardware, calibration, validation) to deliver customer milestones.
- Ensure alignment of architecture, feature content (ABS, ESC, TCS, etc.), and integration into the vehicle platform.
- Developing detailed R&D project plans and providing inputs to the overall program management
- Managing implementation of project plan contents, ensuring timely and budget-compliant execution
- Drive proactive risk identification and issue resolution before customer escalation.
- Support design reviews, safety reviews, and integration workshops with both internal teams and customer stakeholders.
- Support issue triage and root cause analysis during the life of the program
- Provide technical leadership during critical builds, vehicle testing events, and production ramp-up.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related engineering field.
- 5+ years in automotive embedded systems/software development, with direct OEM interaction preferred.
- Experience with brake systems, chassis control modules, or other safety-critical ECUs.
- Demonstrated experience leading customer-facing technical discussions and resolving complex integration issues.
- Strong knowledge of embedded systems and automotive software (C, AUTOSAR preferred).
- Understanding of brake control systems (ABS, ESC, TCS) and vehicle dynamics integration.
- Familiarity with CAN communication, diagnostics, and calibration processes.
- Experience with ISO 26262 functional safety and structured automotive development processes (e.g., ASPICE, OEM-specific processes).

Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related engineering field.
