Job Description
Augsburg University is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to serve as the Founding Director of our Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) Program, within the Physician Assistant Studies Department. The Director will provide leadership, strategic direction, and administrative oversight for all aspects of the DMSc program with an intentional lens toward social justice and equity. This role includes the teaching and oversight of the DMSc curriculum, faculty recruitment, student recruitment and retention, and program assessment. This is a full-time, 11-month non-tenure track position with an anticipated start date in the spring of 2025. This renewable 3-year special appointment provides an opportunity to be at the forefront of leadership, education, and entrepreneurship in the PA profession.
Successful candidates should be a self-motivated team member, looking to grow their educational and professional experience, as well as the program's. This person will work well in collaboration with a cohesive and experienced group of faculty and professional staff.
Qualifications
- Terminal degree (e.g., DMSc, DPA, PhD, EdD, DrPH) in a relevant field.
- Current NCCPA certification
- Eligibility for licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of Minnesota
- Previous experience in academic or healthcare leadership
- Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum development, program assessment, and accreditation processes.
- Strong teaching, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and external partners.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of program administration.
- Experience with budget management and financial oversight.
