Openings:

*ONE Day Shift: Full Time 

*ONE Part-time- Evening shift 3:30-7pm every other weekend with additional shifts during the week

Hourly Wage: Starting at $15 HR

Location: Auburn Meadows, Waconia, MN

Auburn Homes and Services has a unique and rewarding role awaiting you. We are growing our team and have Life Enrichment position(s) available at our Waconia campus in our Assisted Living and Memory Care unit. These position are great for individuals who will enjoy coordinating and leading activities with our senior population.

Looking for a candidate for year-round/long term role. Experience preferred but not necessary as we have a great training program!

Job overview

We are looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills who will assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreational, social, intellectual, emotional and spiritual programs, in accordance with the resident's assessment and care plan, and as may be directed by your supervisor.

  • Needs to be able to work independently, be able to lead activities in our diverse population of assisted living and memory care.
  • Perform assigned work routines and daily assignments to meet the psychosocial and leisure needs & interests of residents, including creating opportunities for meaningful pursuits, exercise, friendships & social interaction, growth and learning, fun and enjoyment, personal choice, and spontaneous activity.
  • Support residents with activities of their individual interest, in groups, or one on one.
  • Assist and support residents pursuits of going outdoors, &/or going on community outings to restaurants, Dinner Theaters, CC Fair, MN. Arboretum, etc. Note: CPR certification is required to supervise bus trips/outings.
  • Collaborate with household staff and/or other department staff, as needed, for large campus events, shared equipment or as needed for resident needs during activities.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma preferred but willing to consider strong independent high school student applicants
    • Able and willing to work flexible hours such as during evenings and weekends for planned programs.
    • Demonstrated enthusiasm, initiative and good rapport with residents, staff, families and volunteers.
    • Demonstrated compatibility with AHS's mission and operating philosophies.
    • Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate with all customers.
