Job Description

Full-Time Health Unit Coordinator- hours are from 8:00am - 4:30pm

**$16.45-$18.45 per hour (depends on experience)

Must be certified as a Nursing Assistant with the State of MN.

The Health Unit Coordinator is responsible for providing office management and clerical support to the Home Care function:

  1. Manage general Home Care office operations and administrative support for the RN team.
  2. Manage central office phone calls and communication.
  3. Coordinate and complete home care billing for services provided to residents according to established procedures.
  4. Submit statistical data to supervisor according to established timelines.
  5. Maintain inventory, billing and distribution of home care and office supplies and equipment according to established procedures.
  6. Maintain resident medical records to include coordination of forms, computer data entry, and generation of reports and data as assigned.
  7. Create, maintain, and breakdown resident medical records and store in accordance with regulation.
  8. Maintain accuracy of electronic and hardcopy of medical records.
  9. Coordinate the scheduling of resident services, ancillary services and transportation needs.
  10. Process physician orders per policy and as directed by RN.
  11. Participates in the admission, transfer, and discharge process of Assisted Living residents. 
  12. Completes MAR reviews monthly and med exchanges as scheduled with pharmacy.
  13. Coordinator for pharmaceutical waste generated by facility, liaison for ancillary service providers, preferred providers and contracted services.

 

Qualifications

 

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Currently certified as a Nursing Assistant with the State of MN.
  3. One to two years of HUC or secretarial/office management experience. 
  4. Demonstrated computer literacy including word processing and other computer experience.
  5. Able to assist in providing resident care when delegated by the RN.
  6. Demonstrated compatibility with AH&S's mission and operating philosophies.
  7. Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate with all customers.
