Job Description

Lead our engineering team and oversee all aspects of the engineering and maintenance operations for the property.  Play a key role in ensuring the appearance, functionality and integrity of the property are optimized while implementing strategies that support efficiency and sustainability.  

Core Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Service Excellence

  • Ensure all facility systems support exceptional guest experiences through reliable, efficient operation

  • Respond promptly to guest-impacting maintenance issues with minimal disruption to their stay

  • Maintain all physical assets at the highest standards of functionality, safety, and aesthetics

  • Collaborate with operations teams to anticipate and address facility needs that enhance guest satisfaction

  • Implement preventive maintenance programs that minimize service interruptions

Facilities Planning & Management

  • Plan, organize, and direct all maintenance activities for structures, facilities, and building systems, and grounds maintenance

  • Develop and execute comprehensive preventive maintenance programs for all physical assets

  • Oversee HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, and building automation systems

  • Manage grounds and landscape systems that preserve the natural beauty of the property

  • Ensure compliance with all building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards

Team Leadership & Development

  • Mentor and inspire a team of engineers, technicians, and maintenance staff

  • Foster a culture of accountability, excellence, and proactive maintenance practices

  • Develop team capabilities through training, coaching, and professional development opportunities

  • Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback

  • Build a collaborative environment that values problem-solving and continuous improvement

  • Lead by example in demonstrating commitment to quality and guest service

Strategic Operations

  • Develop long-term capital improvement plans and annual maintenance budgets

  • Prioritize projects and allocate resources to maximize asset value and guest impact

  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators for facility operations

  • Evaluate and implement new technologies and systems to improve efficiency and sustainability

  • Build relationships with vendors, contractors, and service providers

  • Participate in property leadership meetings and contribute to strategic planning

Pay Range: $120,000/year - $125,000/year

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years’ experience as a Chief Engineer in a hospitality field.
  • Proven leadership, management and administrative skills.
  • Successful management of key talent and culture processes to include recruiting, performance management and team and culture development.
  • Extensive knowledge of building trades and overall mechanics of building operations and maintenance.
