Job Description

The base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $185,000.

Join our team as Director of Sales and become one of the authors of our story. As part of the Auberge family, you will be responsible for leading the sales team to be outstanding demand creators for the breathtaking Mauna Lani Resort.  This role will provide leadership and guidance while supporting the team in achieving departmental goals and objectives.  He or she will work closely with sales intermediaries to maximize return on investment,  make recommendations on the pricing strategy to be compatible with the sales objectives, and support the revenue management team to ensure that pricing structure is supportive of the inventory management objectives and that group sales efforts are targeting correct segments.

  • Develops and maintains sales and strategy and annual plan that is a feasible fit between the revenue objectives, skills and resources and changing market opportunities. 
  • Develops discipline objectives, strategies and tactics in conjunction with each discipline. Assists individuals to tailor their objectives, strategies and tactics.
  • Takes an active role in the direct sales process, assisting the sales team with client site inspections, sales calls, targeting and marketing research. 
  • Responsible for keeping an objective critical view of product and service quality levels to ensure that the price value relationship is properly maintained.  Monitors external factors that may affect pricing decisions.
  • Participate in management training sessions, communication and planning meetings.
  • Participate in meeting with clients from Group and FIT sales.
  • Participate in Promotional Events outside of the resort as needed.
  • Interface with guests in outlets on a regular basis for Guest Satisfaction and PR purposes.
  • Meet with Catering/Conference Services staff for planning and execution of functions.
  • Assist internal and resort sales and marketing efforts.
  • Acts and is an integral part of the operations committee; entertains clients for business purposes.

Qualifications

  • A four-year college degree in hotel administration is ideal.
  • Previous leadership experience in sales and marketing within the luxury resort destinations market is preferred. Should have previous managerial experience in hotel transient and group sales.
  • Expert in sales and marketing and all facets of the hospitality sales and marketing function
  • Able to execute systems and procedures regarding sales, marketing and administration workflow and processes with the highest level of accuracy and integrity.
  • Leadership skills to effectively motivate, and keep the team energized and focused.
  • Good understanding of customer service.
  • Able to display a positive image and diplomacy.
  • Must be outgoing and enthusiastic with a positive mental attitude.
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and results oriented.
