Job Description

Become one of the authors of our story. Join our team as Catering Sales and Event Services Manager at Susurros del Corazon in Punta de Mita México. Catering Sales & Event Services Manager will be responsible for developing and nurturing client relationships throughout the sales and planning process in partnership with the Group Sales team. Ensuring all introductions and client communications are responded to in an enthusiastic and timely manner. Recognizes opportunities to maximize revenue by up-selling and offering enhancements to create outstanding event. This position also involves the sales of local social celebrations at Susurros del Corázon.  Responsible for pro-active direct sales, appointments and site inspections.  Works as a liaison between clients and the resort to create unique and memorable experiences for our guests. Travel may be required to represent the resort at various trade shows and exhibits.

  • Clear understanding of the resort’s business strategies, goal setting and ability to determine actions necessary to drive results.
  • Identify new markets and business opportunities to increase sales.
  • Demonstrate professional and confident communication skills with clients and colleagues.
  • Exhibit a professional demeanor through appearance and by maintaining a positive attitude toward all employees and guests.  
  • Implement all sales action plans related to my market areas as outlined in the marketing plan.
  • Execute and support the operational aspects of business booked (e.g.  generating proposal,  writing contract, customer correspondence). 
  • Assisting the Group Contact with planning their program including all details and services involved with their event
  • Develop strong relationships with the on-property team to ensure working in unity and always striving to achieve the same goals.
  • Assist on -property teams with internal event needs
  • Assess additional training needs based on data gathered and interaction with the sales team from property visits. 
  • Attend all department and hotel meetings as necessary.
  • Lead weekly team meetings such as BEO reviews and RESUME review, Precon if required by client
  • Targeting key accounts potential for the company.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings. Activities include sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, trade shows, etc.

Qualifications

  • College Education (preferred)
  • Proven success in a similar role, prefer 2 years of Event/Wedding experience in a luxury market.
  • Experience in hotels / resorts or event planning is required.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communications skills in English and Spanish
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task and manage time efficiently
