We are experts that enjoy what we do!  We are looking for a Tableau Administrator for one of our clients in Greenbelt, MD.  This is a new position for an existing contract.   Must be a US Citizen with the ability to successfully complete a full background investigation. 

Job Description

The Tableau Administrator will be responsible for supporting Tableau Server installation, configuration, administration and maintenance. The individual will be using administrative guidelines and industry best practices to administer Tableau Server. This individual is expected to leverage many of the existing security postures and resources on the project to ensure the relevant security controls are added and configured project ATO. 

Responsibilities: Perform installation, configuration and administration of the Tableau server and desktop

  • Manage application users, groups, Workbooks and Projects, Database Views, Data Sources, Data Connections and integration with Active Directory
  • Follow SOPs and administration guidelines for server upgrades, backups, patching, performance tuning, and security and administration of the applications
  • Perform administrator duties including publishing reports, creating, modifying, or managing server task schedules, monitoring server activity and usage statistics to identify possible performance issues and enhancements
  • Analyzing documentation for policies, procedures and best practices to provide users with Tableau support
  • Perform advanced Tableau server management tasks including clustering, load balancing etc.
  • Knowledge of Tableau server licensing mechanism and using command line utility tools (tabadmin and tabcmd) to automate tasks
  • Works with security auditors and Tableau team members to document ATO requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Creates detailed documentation of the implemented security controls needed to support the ATO process 
  • Coordinates with project managers and participates in project planning
  • Interfacing with other security compliance individuals and ensuring the project’s security controls are properly documented

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience with Tableau as an administrator, including providing installation, administration, configuration, maintenance, performance monitoring, and tuning support
  •  3+ years of experience with providing general systems administration support, including patching, monitoring and experience with tabcmd and tabadmin command utilities 
  • Experience implementing Tableau Server or other Business Intelligence platforms
  • Experience with Active Directory
  • Tableau Server Qualified Associate Certification preferred
  • Experience in implementing security controls within the Federal space 
  • Experience supporting NIST 800-53 Revision 4 compliance
  • Innovative thoughts to address compliance items 
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Exposure to Analytics and Big Data platforms
