Job Description

We are looking for an experienced API Developer to work in a greenfield project that will provide a specific service to our main appilaction. Responsibilities span the entire lifecycle of the service, from specification and documentation, to deployment, monitoring and maintenance and include: 

  • Collaborate with other team members in the initial specification of the web service.
  • Design, implement test and secure the API.
  • Design and implment a deployment strategy.
  • Monitor the API's performance.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Deep understanding of the HTTP protocol 
  • Proficiency with relational databases and SQL
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science + 2 years experience working with REST APIS or 5 years experience designing and developing REST APIs
  • Experience working with Git and GitHub
  • Intermediate English language skills
  • Basic DevOps experience
  • Experience working with at least 2 programming languages

Nice to have specific techinical knowledge

  • Go programming language
  • PostgreSQL
  • Docker
  • Memcached
  • Continous integration
  • Google Cloud

Additional Information

Additional details

  • You will be required to work out of our office in Mexico City most of the time.
  • We care more about your experience and understanding of HTTP and REST than expertise on a specific programming language. 
  • Our main implementation and preferred language is Go. However, if you do not know it already, you could use any of the languages listed below. 

Keep in mind though that chances are high that you will be required to learn and use Go sooner rather than later.

  3. Ruby, Python
  4. JavaScript

A case could be made for other languages. However, it would be hard for us to adopt any of the following:

C#, C, C++, Perl, PHP, Visual Basic.
