Job Description
Qualifications:
• 5+ years experience in a CAD design and drafting position required; preferably in the Medical Device industry (or other regulated industry)
• Associate’s degree in Mechanical Design, or equivalent, preferred. BS in Mechanical Engineering a plus.
• Advanced SolidWorks proficiency with demonstrated capability to produce complex parts and assemblies required
• Electromechanical design experience working with SolidWorks Electrical 2D and 3D highly desired.
• SolidWorks PDM experience required
• Creating and publishing MBD (Model-Based Design) models desired
• Experience with metal fabrication processes such as milling and turning, etc. required
• Experience designing and dimensioning using the metric system and GD&T required
• Document Control experience require
Position Summary:
The Mechanical CAD Designer will contribute in product development by designing mechanisms and complex assemblies in collaboration with R&D engineers using latest toolsets and industry leading best practices. You will contribute in realizing the next generation of interventional robotic platform. This position will work with new and existing medical device products, generating CAD models, detail designs (in SolidWorks), and creating drawings and BOMs. This is a collaborative opportunity where you will work cross-functionally with Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Manufacturing, and external vendors.
Primary Responsibilities:
Contributes in mechanical and electromechanical CAD design of the new and existing products. Support R&D engineering needs, design updates, and refinement. Construct DMR/BOMs, prepare ECO’s and work with Document Control to implement. Provide detailed design drawings and annotated MBD models per prototype and production level engineering requirements
