Job Description

Position Overview:

Asynchrony Labs, a subsidiary of World Wide Technology, Inc., has opportunities for an Agile Coach to assist with teams’ and individuals’ continuous improvement in software delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Catalyze teams’ continuous improvement through teaching and leadership in transparency, balance, flow, respect, customer focus, collaboration and agreement
  • Provide maturity assessments for external customers at the organization and team levels
  • Facilitate training workshops ranging from technical to business practices
  • Collaborate with business development and customers to design and implement coaching engagements
  • Act as a gentle reminder of process and discipline for software-delivery teams
  • Facilitate a variety of ceremonies, such as retrospectives and project-kickoff activities, as objective third party
  • Sit with and pair with team members to teach skills
  • Lead by example with personal discipline and continuous improvement

Qualifications

The following knowledge skills and attributes are required:

  • Minimum three years’ experience in an agile coach/mentoring role
  • Minimum five years of pragmatic software development and delivery experience
  • Experience in delivery teams using a variety of agile practices, including: stand-ups, pairing, continuous integration, continuous delivery, retrospectives and whole-team approach
  • Understanding of Kanban Method or other reflective-improvement frameworks
  • Ability to facilitate retrospectives, project kickoff activities and other ceremonies
  • Ability to effectively gain buy-in and teach practices, principles and values
  • Strong communication and servant-leadership skills and attitude
  • Auto-didactic and continuous learner
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

The following knowledge skills and attributes are preferred:

  • Experience presenting ideas in public or to groups
  • Hands on experience in the practices of Test-Driven Design (TDD), refactoring, and continuous integration using one or more programming languages (e.g. Java, C#, Ruby)
  • Experience leading consulting engagements and/or technical teams
  • Familiarity and/or experience with using games to teach or generate ideas
  • Ability and experience working with multiple vendors to create approaches that meet the needs of all parties involved
  • Ability to travel
  • Eligible to receive a Security Clearance
