Field Trials Assistant – Casual
Location: Lincoln
The Opportunity
Our Plant & Seed group provides biosecurity monitoring, inspection, auditing, certification, and quality management services to the forestry, horticultural, and seeds industries.
We have an exciting casual opportunity for one motivated individual to assist with field trials over the summer season. In this role, you’ll help maintain field trials in line with the New Zealand Seed Certification Scheme, as well as carry out measurements on a range of grass species to support Plant Variety Rights (PVR) assessments – a type of intellectual property right.
This is a casual role, offered on an as-and-when required basis. The amount of work available will vary, as it is highly dependent on weather and seasonal conditions. Ideally, you will be available from October 2026 to mid-January 2027.
About You
We are looking for someone who brings:
- Prior on-farm experience and a full driver’s licence.
- A tertiary qualification in Agriculture (or working towards one).
- A go-getter attitude with the ability to work well in a team and under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail, along with great written and verbal communication skills.
Previous experience in seed or cropping inspections will be an advantage. Full training will be provided, and you will work under the supervision of experienced AsureQuality team members until approved to conduct inspections independently.
