Job Description

We are currently seeking a Technician in our Residues (GC) Testing Team in a 6 Month Fixed Term role to cover a busy period, based at our Auckland Laboratory in Lynfield  This is a great opportunity to work alongside experienced Technicians and gain experience in the Southern Hemispheres largest Food Testing Laboratory

The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring that sample tests are carried out using the correct methods within the agreed time frames. You will have the advantage of learning on the job gaining invaluable experience.  

Your key duties will involve; 

  • Completing sample testing within the given turn-around-time (TAT) 
  • Strictly adhere to all laboratory and regulatory quality assurance procedures 
  • Ensuring all relevant records are kept up to date at all times 
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy work area 

Flexibility to work additional days or overtime would be ideal as our laboratory operates 7 days a week.  You will be required to work one weekend day.

About you: 

To be successful in this role you will have: 

  • Graduated with a Bachelor of Science, with a focus on Chemistry or Food Science. 
  • Knowledge of GC would be preferential.
  • Previous work experience in a fast paced and high pressure environment will also be beneficial to your success in getting this role. 
  • Team player that can remain focused while doing repetitive tasks and cope with regularly changing priorities. 
  • Excellent attention to detail coupled with fantastic time management skills will see you do well in the AsureQuality environment

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry or Analytical majors.
