Data Engineer – Auckland (Hybrid)

Permanent – Full Time

AsureQuality is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to build and maintain reliable, secure, and scalable data infrastructure that powers analytics, BI, and AI/ML initiatives. You’ll partner with analysts, data scientists, and developers to deliver high-quality, trusted data solutions aligned with business goals.

What you’ll do:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines from diverse data sources
• Develop and optimise Snowflake data models and schemas for analytics
• Build and manage RESTful APIs; integrate with internal/external systems (JSON/XML, OAuth, JWT)
• Deploy and run pipelines using AWS/Azure services, with monitoring and logging
• Implement data quality checks, validation, and observability
• Support AI/ML initiatives by preparing structured, semi-structured, and unstructured datasets
• Champion CI/CD, code modularity, and governance best practices

What we’re looking for:

• 4–5+ years as a Data Engineer or similar role
• Strong SQL, Python, and data modelling skills
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
• ETL/ELT pipeline experience and API integration knowledge
• Understanding of data governance, security, and CI/CD pipelines
• Exposure to BI tools, Agile environments, dbt, or GitHub Actions is advantageous
