About the Role

We are seeking a technically minded Apiculture Auditor to join our team in a permanent, full-time position. Based in either the Waikato or Canterbury region, this role is responsible for auditing Bee products Risk Management Programme (RMP) operations to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, including international market expectations.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong apiculture sector experience who enjoys combining practical industry knowledge with analytical and regulatory work. You will work closely with Bee product RMP operators and industry stakeholders, conducting inspections and providing assurance that systems and practices meet certification and regulatory standards.

Because the Bee products sector operates in a highly regulated international environment, the successful candidate will need to stay up to date with evolving domestic and overseas regulatory requirements and apply technical expertise to auditing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct audits of Bee products RMP operations against relevant standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Assess systems, processes, and documentation to ensure compliance with industry and market requirements.
  • Prepare clear, accurate audit reports and communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Build strong working relationships with Bee Product RMP operators and industry participants.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of domestic and international regulatory requirements affecting the apiculture industry.
  • Participate in other apiculture projects as required
  • Travel within New Zealand as required to complete audits and inspections.

Required / Desirable Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Tertiary qualification
  • Working experience in the primary or food production sector
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong technical reporting skills
  • Ability to learn and retain technical and regulatory information
  • Detail-orientated & analytical
  • Learning / growth mindset
  • Professional integrity & accountability

Advantageous

  • Qualification in primary sector or food related field.
  • Experience within the apiculture sector
  • Experience within an accreditation/certification industry
  • Inspection and reporting experience
  • Knowledge of the operational norms of the apiculture industry
  • Experience in a regulatory and/or food safety and quality systems.
