Job Description

Astucemedia is expanding and looking for a Technical Project Manager to join the team in its Montreal headquarters located in Cité du Multimedia.

The Technical Project Manager is responsible for managing concurrent projects for timely delivery of quality deliverables while performing appropriate scope management. She/he will be responsible for the overall timeline, documenting/managing issues and risks, and communicating project status to internal/external project stakeholders and upper management. This position requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and “hands-on” project management skills. The Technical Project Manager must also be proficient in motivating and leading others, through vision, strategic positioning, and leadership characteristics.

In short, acting as the single point of contact, she/he facilitates definition of the scope and takes projects from the original concept through the final deployment.

  • Assist in pre-sales for evaluating/planning effort and creating Statement of Work

  • Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, budgets

  • Assess resource requirements, and maintains controls over quality

  • Conducts project meetings and publish minutes

  • Produce weekly status report and other project documentation

  • Manages the integration of third-party tasks, tracks effort and review the deliverables

  • Recommends/takes action to direct the analysis of issues and assist in finding solution to problems

  • Provide visibility of impediments/risks and helps mitigate/eliminate them

  • Prevent, monitor and document scope creep

  • Break projects into measurable milestones and track progress against baseline

  • Conduct and document project post-mortem in collaboration with the team

  • Plan and release milestones billing while ensuring payment follow-up

  • Participate in the standardization of project management tools and procedures


  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, administration, computer science or other related domain
  • Certification in Project Management (PMP preferably)

  • Strong writing skills

  • Experience in writing and reviewing contract terms and conditions

  • Capacity to travel abroad (around 30%)

  • Minimum 7 years of experience as Project Manager of several concurrent projects utilizing waterfall and agile methodologies

  • Experience in software development

  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and people skill

  • Ability to create a team environment which motivates to deliver

  • Effective facilitation skills for participatory decision-making

  • Work well under pressure

  • Proficiency in MS Projects, Excel, PowerPoint
