Job Description

What this Job Entails: 

The Accounts Payable Accountant will play a critical role on the finance team. This position will require the individual to assume a lead role within our accounting function, helping us to ensure a timely close process and performing detailed analysis of our financial statements and resolving any potential issues, especially in the accounts payable input area.  We are a growing company which brings an abundance of opportunity for talented individuals. Scope: 

  • Resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways

  • Professional with a full understanding of their speciality

  • Works on problems of a diverse scope 

  • Receives little instruction on day to day work, general instruction on new assignments

 

Your Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure proper coding of general ledger inputs, including accounts payable, credit cards, and bank transactions

  • Oversee and review incoming cash receipts

  • Make vendor accounts recommendations

  • Ensure vendor invoices are paid timely within the agreed upon terms

  • Serve as the Accounts Payable liaison both cross-departmentally and with external stakeholders

  • Research and correct accounts payable entries and payments

  • Prepare ad hoc analysis as requested

  • Prepare monthly journal entries and ensure a timely and accurate close process

  • Post and analyze intercompany transactions across international entities

  • Prepare monthly reconciliations and resolve any related open issues 

  • Identify and design processes to improve month end efficiencies

  • Ensures integration of data produced into systems and supports objectives of financial analysts

  • Participates in annual audits and special projects

Required Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S/B.A) from four-college or university and 3+ years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience 

  • Experience working in a global multi-entity environment is preferred

  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel

  • Detailed knowledge of accounting systems
