What this Job Entails:
The Document Control Specialist responsible for the management of a database of guides and information, updating this internal database, and data entry into Google Tools. The Document Control Specialist will work to maintain our document control database, while providing guidance and support to all departments with any issues regarding Document Control.
Scope:
Works on assignments that require considerable judgment and initiative. Makes recommendations for solutions
Works within guidelines and takes ownership of results. May act as a mentor to less experienced team members
Your Roles and Responsibilities:
Updates logs, databases and catalogues.
Maintains files of guides, information, and documentation.
Prepares process and status reports, assigns and monitors document numbers, and reviews documents for accuracy and completeness.
Ensures documents meet standards for production.
Submitting and responding to change list proposals resulting in updates to the documentation site.

Required Qualifications/Skills:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 5 to 8 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Builds productive internal and external working relationships
Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
Ability to think and work independently
Ability to work with with gerrit/git/jekyll
Basic understanding of markdown (MD), javascript, bash scripting
Ability to convert Google docs to markdown format
Basic to moderate problem solving skills
Ability to work with issue tracker, so as to monitor, triage change update issues serving as update requests to the documentation site
Preferred Qualifications:
Proactive communication and coordination with documentation contributors, to clarify priorities and requests
Basic negotiation skills to agree on timing of postings, tasks
Communication and coaching skills to help contributors with their own markdown or self-posting to the site using gerrit/git/jekyll and site architecture
Physical Demand & Work Environment:
Must be able to sit, stand, stoop and bend for extended periods of time
Must have dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools and to handle other office equipment
Must have ability to climb ladder, scaffolding or transported by lifts
Must have the ability to drive/operate a vehicle in a safe manner
Must be able to regularly lift and transport up to 15 pounds, as well as frequently lift and or transport moderately heavy equipment up to 50 pounds
Must have the ability to perform office-related tasks which may include prolonged sitting or standing
Must have the ability to move from place to place within an office environment
Must be able to use a computer
Must have the ability to communicate effectively
