Director, Product Management
- Full-time
- Region: North America
Company Description
Assent is the leading solution for supply chain sustainability tailored for the world’s top-tier, sustainability-driven manufacturers. Hidden risks riddle supply chains, many of which weren't built with sustainability in mind. That's where we step in. With insights from experts, Assent is the tool manufacturers trust for comprehensive sustainability.
We are proud to announce that Assent has crossed the US$100M ARR milestone, granting us Centaur Status. This accomplishment, reached just 8 years following our Series A, makes us the first and only Certified B Corporation in North America's SaaS sustainability industry to celebrate this milestone.
Our journey from $5 million to US$100M ARR in just eight years has been marked by significant growth and achievements. With our $350 million US funding led by Vista Equity Partners, we're poised for even greater expansion and are on the lookout for outstanding team members to join our mission.
Hybrid Work Model
At Assent, we proudly embrace a remote-first work model, valuing the flexibility and autonomy it provides our team. We also acknowledge the intangible benefits of occasional in-person workdays. For team members situated within 50 kms/31 miles of our five global offices in Ottawa, Eldoret, Penang, Columbus, Pune and Amsterdam, you can expect to come into the office 1-3 days a week. Similarly, those near our co-working spaces in Nairobi and Toronto are encouraged to work onsite once a month.
Job Description
The Director of Product Management at Assent is a strategic leader and the primary architect of product success for our high-growth B2B SaaS data network platform. You are accountable for the long-term health, profitability, and market positioning of a suite of emerging product capabilities.
Beyond individual product delivery, you will lead the evolution of Assent’s product culture—mentoring and building high-performing teams, making high-stakes investment decisions, and ensuring that our data-centric vision translates into scalable commercial value. Operating at the intersection of global supply chains, sustainability, and AI, you will navigate a uniquely complex domain where your leadership directly impacts how the world’s largest manufacturers operate responsibly.
Assent operates in a uniquely complex and meaningful domain at the intersection of global supply chains, product compliance, sustainability, and data. Our products increasingly rely on large-scale data, automation, and AI-enabled capabilities to help customers navigate evolving regulatory requirements with confidence. If you are energized by solving hard, real-world problems with real consequences, and motivated by building products that make the world more responsible and transparent, this role offers both challenge and purpose.
Strategic Leadership & Portfolio Governance
Visionary Strategy: Define and evangelize the multi-year product vision. Ensure your portfolio’s strategy doesn't just align with business objectives but actively drives Assent’s market leadership.
Investment & P&L Accountability: Own the "buy, build, or partner" decisions. Develop rigorous business cases for spend allocation, balancing short-term revenue needs with long-term platform scalability and margin health.
Market Shaping: Use deep market intelligence and "Voice of the Customer" (VOC) insights to anticipate regulatory shifts and position Assent as the definitive solution.
Organizational Excellence & Execution
High-Integrity Roadmap Governance: Oversee the translation of high-level strategy into cohesive, high-integrity roadmaps across multiple teams. Ensure seamless dependency management and sequencing across the broader Assent ecosystem. Partner closely with Engineering leads to ensure your team is crafting features that develop into implementable stories. Manage reporting of progress in partnership with Engineering.
Lifecycle & Platform Evolution: Lead the transition from legacy systems to emerging data-network architectures. Direct migration strategies that protect customer value while accelerating technical innovation.
Product Craft Mentorship: Elevate the "Product Craft" within the organization. Standardize discovery processes, documentation excellence, and data-driven decision-making frameworks to ensure solutions are viable and scalable.
Data-Centric & AI Transformation
Strategic AI Integration: Direct the integration of AI/ML and advanced analytics across the platform. Identify where intelligent automation creates a "moat" for Assent and a transformative experience for our customers.
Data Ecosystem Stewardship: Partner with Engineering and Data leadership to ensure our data architecture supports resilient, trustworthy, and transparent product capabilities in an era of imperfect global data.
Cross-Functional Orchestration
Commercial Synergy: Partner with the Leadership Team, Sales, and Marketing to define global GTM and New Product Introduction strategies, A/B product led growth testing and expansion tactics.
Engineering Delivery Partnership: Partner closely with Engineering on reporting, success metrics and the development process.
Evangelism & Influence: Act as a high-profile ambassador for Assent. Present to "C-Suite" stakeholders at Tier-1 global customers and influence internal alignment across Engineering, Support, and Customer Success.
Operational Health & Escalation: Provide executive oversight for critical escalations, ensuring immediate resolutions reinforce long-term architectural integrity and customer trust.

Commercial Mastery: Proven success in managing complex product portfolios with direct impact on Bookings, ARR, and Gross Retention.
AI/Data Strategic Literacy: A track record of launching data-centric products. You don't just know the buzzwords; you know how to build business models around AI/ML and large-scale data networks.
Advanced Communication: Masterful ability to tell a story with data. You can command a room of internal executives or external global partners with clarity and credibility.
People Development: A passion for building "empowered" product teams. You have a proven ability to coach PMs and Sr. PMs to their next level of performance.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering; MBA highly preferred. Pragmatic Marketing or similar executive leadership certification is expected.
