Hybrid Work Model
At Assent, we proudly embrace a remote-first work model, valuing the flexibility and autonomy it provides our team. We also acknowledge the intangible benefits of occasional in-person workdays. For team members situated within 50 kms/31 miles of our five global offices in Ottawa, Eldoret, Penang, Columbus, Pune and Amsterdam, you can expect to come into the office at least one day a week. Similarly, those near our co-working spaces in Nairobi and Toronto are encouraged to work onsite once a month.
Job Description
We’re looking for an Internal Communication and Branding Coordinator on a 6 month contract to support internal communications and employer branding at Assent. This role will help drive content creation, engagement initiatives, and communications support, with a focus on social media, internal events, and recognition programs. The position also involves supporting leadership by ensuring presentations and documents are clear, professional, and consistently aligned with Assent’s brand standards. You’ll gain hands-on experience in corporate communications, branding, and content strategy while working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Requirements & Responsibilities
- Assist in content creation for internal communications and employer branding, including social media (LinkedIn and Instagram).
- Support the coordination of internal events, including logistics, communications, and engagement strategies.
- Help maintain and update internal communications platforms, such as intranet content, recognition programs, and company-wide messaging.
- Assist with swag ordering, event posters, and internal branding initiatives.
- Connect with team members to gather employee stories and content for talent branding.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to refine and polish presentations and documents in line with brand standards.
- Leverage AI tools to streamline workflows, maximize resources, and enhance the use of data in communications and branding initiatives.
Qualifications
- A recent graduate or currently attending a recognized post secondary institution with a focus in Business, Marketing or Communications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Interest in internal communications, branding, and social media.
- Ability to multitask and manage projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- A proactive, collaborative mindset, eager to learn and contribute.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Growth mindset, with innate curiosity that inspires innovative, creative, and pragmatic solutioning and action.
- Demonstrated experience successfully managing projects and meeting deadlines.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing business and market environment - you are highly adaptable, flexible and deal well with ambiguity.
