Job Description
Position Summary
The Pool Attendant maintains the cleanliness of the pool and facilities while assisting guests. This position reports to the Housekeeping Manager.

Essential Job Functions/Key Job Responsibilities
• Greet guest as they enter the pool area, offer to get a server for drinks and food service
• Restock all products in the facility: towels, robes, magazines etc.
• Assist the bar with clearing of service wear to the bar area
• Ensure towel bins are kept empty and dirty towels are taken to the laundry
• Make sure children are adequately supervised by parents at the swimming pool
• Observe safety procedures at all times, anticipate potential hazards and advise guests
• Inform Engineering using the hotel property management system of any pool and hot tub related issues, temperature of the pool or hot tub, damage to the pool area etc.
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education & Experience Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Previous health club experience preferred
• Lifeguard/ First aid / CPR qualification preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Knowledge of hotel fire and safety procedures. Assist in emergency and security procedures as directed by management
• Knowledge of product or service (example retail product, food & beverage products)
• Knowledge of company policies and procedures
• Proficiency in communicating clearly both verbally and in writing to team members and customers
• Ability to work in collaboration with others to achieve team goals
• Assist in emergency and security procedures as directed by management
• Ability to maintain the cleanliness and order of the pool and hot tub area, clearing and resetting towels and chair covers when guests leave in readiness for the next guest
• Ability to engage with customers in a positive and helpful manner
• Ability to be attentive to guests – converse, etc. Timed attention to guests using hot tub
Additional Information
Work Environment & Physical Demands
• Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand or be on your feet, kneel and bend for extended periods of time
• Regularly work in adverse conditions and be able to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
• Frequently be able to lift a minimum of fifteen pounds
