Job Description

Summary
The Housekeeping Supervisor maintain areas of responsibility by constant inspection, reporting and follow up in line with hotel and Forbes 5 star standards.

Essential Job Functions 
•  Check with the morning manager or supervisor for room status to follow up, and update front office with room status
•   Check all public areas for proper appearance
•   Run on occupancy report to do the turn down assignments
•   Report to shift on time
•   Report to work in a neatly groomed and acceptable manner as outlined in the employee handbook
•   Direct and assist in assigning work to personal
•   Supervise and inspect so that housekeeping service consistently meets the Little Nell standards
•   Spot check all public areas and follow up as needed and make recommendations for the next shift
•   Make sure all door outlets are secure
•   Verify that all lost and found is logged daily
•   Monitor guest request to be perform on a timely basis
•   These areas are not limited to other combinations
•   Check the storage for all supplies once per week on Mondays
•   Ability to keep ongoing inventory of cleaning supplies in stock by notifying Supervisor
•   Maintain clean and organized storage areas
•   Ability to understand the safety aspects and be in compliance with OSHA on cleaning chemicals, mixing, and storing
•   Report all maintenance requests and mechanical deficiencies
•   Must be able to work any day from 3:30 pm – 11:00 pm or 12:00 am depending on occupancy levels (i.e. winter holidays)
•   Make manager aware of guest’s comments and complaints
•   Has friendly and polite attitude towards guests and co-workers
•   Must be detail oriented and like to clean
•   Must adhere to all hotel policies and procedures
•   Attend all schedules meetings and perform other tasks asked by management
•   Comply with all policies and procedures for the Housekeeping Department, The Little Nell, and Aspen One
•   Is familiar with Hotel fire and safety procedures
•   Assist in emergency and security procedures as directed by management
•   Complete tasks and projects delegated by management and assist other departments as business volumes and staff levels 

Qualifications

•   Previous experience preferred, especially with Janitorial equipment and chemicals
•   Must be able to read and write
•   Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred
•   Luxury hotel background experience preferred

Additional Information

Supervision Given and Received 
Given: Exercises direct supervision over Housekeeping Staff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, frequent and detailed review of work, training, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Received: Works under direct supervision of Housekeeping Manager. Tasks are assigned according to specific procedures, and work is checked frequently. Instruction, advice and assistance are readily available.

Work Environment and Physical Demands 
•    Ability to be on your feet, kneel and bend for extended periods of time 
•    Regularly work in adverse conditions and requiring the use of protective apparel/equipment to prevent exposure to the elements as well as an office environment and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
•    Must be able to lift, push or pull occasionally up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance
