Job Description
Summary
The Director of Marketing leads annual marketing strategy development, on-going marketing plan execution, development of assets and campaigns and is responsible for the daily management of Limelight Hotels marketing team. The Director of Marketing will focus on marketing both hotel and food & beverage operations and achieving monthly and annual revenue goals. Additionally, the Director of Marketing will lead the brand’s expansion into new markets and own the marketing strategies for future properties. The Director of Marketing will bring strong leadership capabilities, including the ability to develop talent and to inspire and collaborate with indirect team members and stakeholders. The role will collaborate closely with Limelight General Managers and report to the Head of Marketing, Aspen Hospitality. The Director of Marketing has a strong business acumen, brings an analytical lens to both objectives and performance, is resourceful, organized, digitally savvy, and has a great creative eye. Extensive marketing experience and a comprehensive knowledge of hospitality marketing and branding are required. The role can be based in Denver or Aspen.
The budgeted salary range for this position is $120,000 to $150,000 annually. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience, all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.

Essential Job Functions
• Ability to inspire and lead high performing teams, with both direct report team members and indirect team members and stakeholders
• Ownership of Limelight’s annual marketing strategy development, beginning with a deep understanding of guest insights and behaviors, strong handle on market dynamics and seasonal variations, ability to identify trends across and within properties, analytical ability to size financial contribution from marketing initiatives, and vision to leverage business objectives to create holistic annual marketing plan inclusive of promotional, channel and content plans
• Ownership of marketing plan execution, including plans to optimize and/or pivot based on business results at brand and/or property level, campaign/channel results and changing conditions, with clear understanding of KPIs and implications of performance
• Oversight of digital media presence and content across properties: company website, third-party sites, OTAs etc.
• Demonstrate deep understanding of paid media objectives and partner with Digital team to manage all paid efforts in conjunction with the media agency (including digital media plan, PPC, SEO, Social, and other digital marketing efforts) are delivering against brand, guest experience, and revenue goals
• Partner with Aspen One Content team to ensure all social media initiatives for the property including Facebook and Instagram deliver against organic channel objectives. This includes content calendar review and approval, growth strategy and engagement goals, and ensuring all imagery and copy is representative of the property and brand in line with brand standards
• Partner with Aspen One Content team to ensure email marketing strategy and execution deliver against owned channel objectives
• Partner with Aspen One Creative team to ensure creative campaigns including collateral, print, digital, advertising, branding, social media, and event partnerships producing visual assets, uphold brand standards and are delivering engaging, relevant messaging to the intended audience
• Own and manage guest touchpoints (in-room collateral, websites, etc.) and all hotel communication (flyers, signs, eblasts, etc.) – work in parallel with the in-house design team and respective department
• Partner with Aspen One Creative team to ensure content shoots, inclusive of shot lists, and talent, will deliver creative needs
• Support Aspen One creative team in scheduling and maintaining photography for property events and updated photography
• Maintain the brand voice and pillars according to established brand standards
• Work with the GMs, Sales and Revenue departments in order to create seasonal packages, promotions, and communications in order to ensure the brand meets revenue and reaches new audiences for both rooms and food & beverage departments – at times, these may vary by property
• Partner with the Food & Beverage and Events teams to ideate, and develop events/programs, drive awareness and sales for key programs and initiatives
• Field and analyze ROI and value for new events and partnership requests
• Lead general F&B promotion, including management of the digital presence for all F&B venues across properties
• Discover new & nurture existing relationships with local partners that bring both culturally relevant and brand-aligned events and activations to the brand that introduce the brand to new guests and create media value
• Manage all special project needs including guest list management, event production, and coordination with the PR team
• Lead annual marketing budget process and invoicing efforts
• Manage vendor and agency relationships
• Generate comprehensive recaps for key initiatives
• Communicate and educate all hotel and brand initiatives and announcements to the properties
Qualifications
• 10+ years of marketing experience
• Minimum of 5 years in hospitality marketing strongly preferred
• Experience in Restaurant and/or Food & Beverage outlets a plus
• Bachelor's Degree with preferred emphasis in marketing or business
• Experience with content and asset production
• Previous experience leading teams
• Must be able to lead, motivate and encourage others and possess very strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills
• Exceptional written, verbal and in person skills including etiquette and ability to work with the public
• Knowledge of communications skills, exceptional organization skills, ability to deal with diverse clientele, golf knowledge and or marina experience is an advantage
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
Additional Information
Supervision Given and Received
Given: Exercises general supervision over Limelight Hotels marketing efforts and team. A variety of routine tasks, sets general expectations of results expected within company’s policies and procedures. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Received: Works under supervision of the VP of Hospitality Brand & Marketing and receives guidance in terms of broad goals and overall objectives and is responsible for establishing the methods to attain them.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
• Ability to stand, type and sit at desk/computer for most of the work shift executing repetitive movements
• No adverse or hazardous conditions
• Not required, but preferred to be able to occasionally lift, push or pull 25 lbs. individually or with assistance
• Role requires travel to all properties
