Job Description
Summary
The Vacation Specialist assists and serves guests with vacation packages in Aspen Snowmass and acts as a liaison between the hotel/property management company and customers. This position generates revenue from in-bound calls; handles special requests and any additional customer service of the assigned reservation queue, within the framework of the Reservations Department.
The budgeted pay rate for this position is $25.50 - $27.00 per hour plus sales commission. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience.

Essential Job Functions
- Respond to inbound telephone inquiries regarding travel reservations by building personal customized vacation package for all aspects of their vacation, including lodging, lift tickets, ski school, travel insurance, equipment rentals, and other activities
- Continuous follow up on booked reservations
- Conduct follow-up calls to current customers to inform them about their reservation and/or special request status when necessary
- Maintain conscientious work performance and promote the hospitality offered by Stay Aspen Snowmass with courteous, friendly, professional service
- Maintain thorough working knowledge of Stay Aspen Snowmass properties, Aspen Snowmass activities, and Inntopia software
- Charge deposit/final payment on reservations booked
- Provide back up for the operator phone and assist other reservations departments when necessary
- Assist with special event pass production
- Conduct outbound calls concerning potential new revenue opportunities
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Sales experience within the travel related industry preferred
- Experience in hospitality reservations preferred
- Previous work experience with Navis/Revinate and/or Inntopia preferred
- Strong written and mathematical skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Supervision Given and Received
Supervision Given: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Supervision Received. Works under general supervision of the Sales Manager. Receives continuing or individual assignments according to supervisor’s directions and may perform routine tasks. Expectations of the quality, quantity and deadlines are clearly set. Instructions, advice and assistance available as needed. Work is reviewed on demand or during scheduled check-ins.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Ability to stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time. Kneeling and bending may be required.
- Regularly work indoors with no adverse conditions. Some positions require exposure to outdoor elements or a combination of both indoors and outdoors and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces.
- Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance
