Job Description

The ATV Mechanic will oversee and conduct the maintenance and upkeep of the Snowmass snowmobile and ATV fleet insuring the reliable and safe performance of each machine.

Essential Job Functions

  • Repair failed and damaged components in a timely manner to a level as new or better.
  • Find problems before they fail with effective, thorough preventative maintenance.
  • Be able to trouble shoot breakdowns using solid problem solving skills.
  • Completely understands all snowmobiles and ATV's, their components and systems.
  • Work with Lift Maintenance Crew as needed to perform lift maintenance work.
  • Communicate effectively with snowmobile operators and co-workers.
  • Maintain and care for company tools and machinery.
  • Will operate and maintain a safe work place and keep all machines running well and in accordance with ASC and State of Colorado requirements.
  • Will maintain all machines to ensure that there is minimal interruption in business operations.
  • Keep shop and work area clean and tidy
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Small engine experience
  • Current and Valid Driver’s license
  • Strong mechanical skill and metalworking and fabricating skills preferred.
  • Must have extensive mechanical knowledge and be familiar with shop procedures.
  • Must have computer skills to maintain parts inventory, order parts, and access internet resources.

Additional Information

Supervision given and received   

Supervision given: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. 
Supervision received: Works under direct supervision of Lift Operations Manager. Tasks are assigned according to specific procedures, and work is checked frequently. Instruction, advice and assistance are readily available. 

Work Environment and physical demands   

Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, bend or be on your feet for extended periods of time.   

Regularly work in wet, cold, hot conditions requiring the use of protective apparel/equipment to prevent exposure to the elements and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces.  

Must be able to frequently lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance (weight limits can vary according to position, but no more than 50)
