Job Description

Summary
The Food & Beverage Manager provides operational, training, and managerial oversight to the Food & Beverage (F&B) Department including kitchen, breakfast, lounge, bar, catering, and banquets. 

The budgeted salary range for this position is $70,000-$80,000. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience, all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.

Essential Job Functions 
•    Help train, coach, and mentor all F&B staff 
•    Maintain a high level of food and customer service 
•    Help create the weekly schedule for employees 
•    Participate in the interview and selection process of new employees 
•    Operate as a working member of the food & beverage team to provide coverage and days off for restaurant management & supervisors
•    Handle payroll and administrative duties 
•    Field guest challenges and develop solutions 
•    Operate within budget and reaching or exceeding financial targets
•    Communicate with Restaurant Manager, Restaurant Supervisors and Chef de Cuisine concerning quality, presentation, timing and guest comments
•    Maintain adequate inventory of food and beverage needs 
•    Keep track of cover, revenues, and other F&B metrics 
•    Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

•    High School Diploma or equivalent required 
•    College degree preferred 
•    4 years of F&B management experience preferred 
•    2 years of hotel industry experience preferred 
•    Knowledge of food and cooking methods and wine preferred 

Additional Information

Supervision Given and Received 
Given: Exercises direct supervision over Food & Beverage staff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, frequent and detailed review of work, training, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Received: Works under minimal supervision of the Hotel Manager. Receives guidance in terms of broad goals and overall objectives and is responsible for establishing the methods to attain them.

Work Environment and Physical Demands  
Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, smell, taste, stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time. Regularly work in wet, hot and humid conditions for extended periods of time and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces. Must be able to constantly lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance.
