Job Description

Summary 
The Housekeeping Manager helps hire, train, and manage staff. They assign cleaning duties and daily focal points for each Room Attendant and Houseperson. They are ultimately responsible for the cleanliness levels within guest rooms and public areas.

Essential Job Functions
•   Report for work in a neatly groomed and acceptable manner as outlined in the employee’s handbook and further developed in the departmental rules
•   Train housekeeping employees
•   Direct and assist in assigning work to personnel
•   Supervise and inspect so that Housekeepers service guest rooms consistently with-in standards and in accordance with policies and procedures
•   Ensure proper use of supplies by staff to minimize costs and avoid accidents. Understand the safety aspects and be in compliance with OSHA on the cleaning chemicals mixing, and storing
•   Report and follow through on all necessary repairs through use of Maintenance Requests
•   Monitor guest requests to be performed on a timely basis
•   Update rooms for the front desk at the earliest time and assign rooms on a priority basis
•   Perform final inspection of all work and follow through on all projects assigned by Assistant Director of Housekeeping
•   Provide leadership for the personnel
•   Maintain all areas of responsibility in good condition
•   Maintain adequate staff to ensure an efficient operation-weekly and daily schedules-room assignment schedules
•   Assist in hiring, training, orientating and disciplinary action as required
•   Monitor employees through automated time keeping system (Kronos) and prepare payroll through computer system
•   Ensure perpetual inspection of total room inventory is completed every 15 days
•   Train and supervise the laundry staff to ensure an adequate supply of linens and uniforms on a daily basis
•   Assist in all linen and uniform inventories
•   Assist in inspections and recurring training of Supervisors
•   Set up evening shift tasks and have pore-shift meetings with PM staff to review their assignments
•   Maintains and applies a broad understanding of financial management principals to ensure decisions are fiscally sound and responsible
•   Make schedule based on budget and as a percentage of revenue
•   Manage expenses per budget
•   Complete weekly time and labor 

The budgeted salary range for this position is $70,000-$75,000. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience, all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus. 

Qualifications

•   High School Diploma or equivalent required 
•   Ability to communicate in Spanish and English required 
•   College degree preferred 
•   2 years of management experience in a 5 Star Hotel preferred
•   5 years of housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred

Additional Information

Supervision Given and Received 
Given: Exercises direct supervision over Housekeeping staff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, frequent and detailed review of work, training, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Received: Works under direct supervision of the Assistant Director of Housekeeping. Tasks are assigned according to specific procedures, and work is checked frequently. Instruction, advice and assistance are readily available.

Work Environment and Physical Demands 
•    Ability to stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time. Kneeling and bending may be required
•    Regularly work indoors with no adverse conditions. Some positions require exposure to outdoor elements or a combination of both indoors and outdoors and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces  
•    Must be able to constantly lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance
