Job Description
The Transfer Driver Manager supervises, coordinates, oversees and operates every facet of the second-shift transfer department. Responsibilities include establishing and maintaining good working relationships with Guest Service and other ASC departments. The manager oversees the safe delivery of products to the proper Four-Mountain Sports and Guest Service Corral locations, resolves any issues with lost or misplaced equipment and ensures the safe maintenance and operation of all company vehicles by the transfer drivers.
“The budgeted salary range for this position is $62,745-$75,546. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience, all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.”
Essential Job Functions
- Responsible for overseeing and managing transfer drivers, trucks, and machinery
- Supervises and coordinates activities of transfer department employees, including but not limited to: hiring, training, creating schedules, assigning duties, overseeing job performance, scheduling work breaks, etc.
- Provide great customer service to stores and other departments. Work as a team with other departments and managers. Establish relationships and work closely with Guest Service staff.
- Responsible for all logistics associated with the safe transfer of Four Mountain Sports and customer equipment between Four Mountain Sports stores, Guest Service Corral locations and the tune shop
- Utilize NetSuite and other software tools to consistently and accurately track both retail and rental product as it is transferred through our stores, tune lab and warehouse network.
- Create and maintain transfer routes and schedules
- Responsible for moving and organizing skis and snowboards, and developing relevant policies and procedures for transfer staff to follow
- Responsible for scheduling vehicle maintenance – schedule repairs while maintaining a sufficient number of vehicles on the road at all times
- Maintain tune chariots and guest service carts
- Responsible for meeting financial requirements set by the budget
- Prepare weekly shift schedules, meeting and operating within budget
- Train and coach employees in department policies and procedures and job duties
- Responsible for payroll timekeeping, ensuring timely and accurate pay for all employees
- Responsible for employee safety training and documentation
- Responsible for conducting employee performance appraisals
- Provide a positive, safe and productive work environment
- Promote, train and enforce a safe work environment up to the standards of the Aspen Skiing Company and OSHA
- Enforce loss prevention policies and procedures
- Complete all ASC Training requirements
- Perform such other duties or projects as determined by his/her manager
- Manage a staff of up to twenty or more transfer drivers including hiring, scheduling, time keeping, employee training, discipline, performance, termination and all relevant documentation

Qualifications
- Fluent English
- Strong communication, leadership and motivational skills
- Ability to drive a box truck and operate liftgates and pallet jacks safely
- Ability to create multiple routes for multiple trucks to pick up and drop off a variety of products
- Ability to manage and schedule up to twenty plus employees
- Computer proficiency required including Microsoft Excel and Word
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
- Some vehicle maintenance or mechanical aptitude preferred
- Must have a valid, current and unrestricted Driver’s License
- Must pass background check
- Management experience preferred
Additional Information
Supervision Given and Received:
Supervision given: This position oversees all Lead Transfer Drivers and Transfer Drivers.
Supervision received: Works under supervision of the Director of Logistics. Expected to work autonomously at times and use critical thinking to solve problems. Instruction, advice and assistance are readily available.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 80 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 125 pounds and occasionally push/pull up to 250 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
A physical assessment (Work Ready) is required for certain positions.
Skiing or Snowboarding is required for certain positions.
